Through my journey to Singapore I find
The heartbreak so deep yet of a healing kind
Of those special lost years never to return
But one of life's lessons we all have to learn
How involved we are by the stroke of a politician's pen
What we didn't know was a disaster then
To devastate and destroy our lives so young
Not knowing a future that had begun
Yet after those dreadful years had gone we learned to live
To carry on and enjoy what life could still give
