An Epitaph To A FEPOW

by

Unknown

A FEPOW stood at Heavens door

His face was lined and thin

He softly asked St Peter

“Please may I come in?”

St Peter asked “What have you done

That you should be admitted here?”

“I was a Japanese Prisoner of war

For almost three and half a year”

The Pearly Gates swung open

As St Peter rang the bell

“You’ve earned your place in Heaven ‘cos

You’ve had your share of Hell”
